The Ministry of Finance has appointed an expert group to evaluate Norges Bank's active management of the Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG). The group consists of Professor Rob Bauer at the University of Maastricht, Professor Charlotte Christiansen at Aarhus University and Professor Trond M. Døskeland at the Norwegian School of Economics.
International Centre for Pension Management Awards Three Research Papers
Each year, ICPM awards a number of prizes for research with potential to make a material contribution to the topics of interest of the ICPM Research Partners. To be considered, research should be completed or close to completion but not published. Prizes will seek to reward innovation, practical applicability and research excellence.

ICPM would like to congratulate Barbara Zvan on her appointment as the inaugural CEO for the newly formed University Pension Plan Ontario, which represents pension funds of three major universities in Ontario, Canada.
We would like to congratulate Sudhir Rajkumar who was elected as ICPM’s new Board Chair, as well as Michelle Ostermann (Railpen, UK) who is now Vice Chair, a position that Sudhir previously held since 2016.

The ICPM Toronto 2020 Discussion Forum (May 31 - June 2, 2020) and Global Pension Day (June 3, 2020) are cancelled. Like most organisations worldwide, ICPM has been closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and evaluating its potential impact on our Research Partners. After long conversations and careful evaluations, ICPM has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming Toronto 2020 Discussion Forum, as the health and safety of our delegates, staff and speakers are a priority to ICPM.
Each year, ICPM awards a number of prizes for research with potential to make a material contribution to the topics of interest of the ICPM Research Partners. Up to CAD$50,000 will be awarded to high-quality submissions meeting the criteria of ICPM. Prize winners may be invited to present their research at an ICPM Discussion Forum, which occur in June and October of each year (locations vary globally). ICPM may also invite the authors to participate in a webinar within the ICPM Research Partner network on the topic. Completed papers will receive timely distribution amongst the ICPM Research Partners, as part of ICPM’s research program. Deadline for submissions is: March 31, 2019.
ICPM is currently inviting proposals from qualified firms for the provision of professional association management services under the direction of the Centre’s Executive Director. The Request for Proposal (RFP) describes the areas of expertise that are sought in support of ICPM meetings, activities and executive/administrative tasks. ICPM will conduct an evaluation of submitted proposals and will award a contract to the firm whose proposal is determined to be most advantageous to ICPM, considering the needs and evaluation factors set forth in this RFP.
The Chilean Pension Reform Working Group has published the Outsider’s View on the Chilean Pension System. The report was prepared for the ICPM Discussion Forum held in Santiago, Chile October 21 to 24, 2018 by a group of international pension experts under the Research Committee of ICPM. A followup interview with Michael Preisel, Chair of the Working Group provided further insight into the main challenges of the Chilean pension system.
